Earlier this year in May, Google announced the GMusic beta at the Google I/O. Last week the cloud based music service just went live. What is Google Music??? Well, it’s something similar iTunes and Amazon Cloud Player. It’s a cloud based online music storage facility that let’s you store, manage, share, download and play your uploaded and bought music from almost anywhere in the world.
I am in my third year in college. There’s a weird course called as “software engineering” here and i suppose most colleges would be having it (well, it’s my view since i think it’s generic idea that every developer should know and something taught in few seminars and not stretched over the semester). I didn’t really felt the need for such a “course” since it’s an interesting and a must-know concept to have and must be applied practically and less theoretically.
The web is not safe today. The cracking culture is advancing to it’s zenith and reverse engineering growing at it’s fastest pace. As it is true for the web to be a knowledge hub, same is true for it to be a devil’s playroom. The information is easily available and accessible to anyone at a click. Sharing of every type is permitted (unless you are in China) and creating your brand new virus or trojan is just a few searches away.
All those business ethics come to one conclusion, if it’s not profitable, don’t do it. Investment and buying are the key areas that can make a company stay, if not expand, in this competitive world. With rivals creating similar stuff as yours and taking away your market share, if not dominating, things can get on your nerve. Google knows it. That’s why it bought Motorola Mobility.
Over the years “internet-giants” or anything that you may want to call them like the facebook, twitter, youtube have tried to expand their empire and get hold of the largest community of internet users in the west. And have succeeded in their strategy. So they thought of expanding into the east and take over the most populated state – ‘China’. Although they had Hong Kong in their hand but further conquest into the mainland seemed unlikely as they encountered “The Great Firewall Of China”.
One of the latest buzzword to hit the internet market is “Cloud Computing”. You may have heard of it or not but this cool idea makes file sharing and accessing a real easy and quick deal. So even if you are sitting in Antarctica working over that next big thing and immediately want some files stored in your PC in Las Vegas, you can do so without telling anyone to mail you. Not only this you can even edit your documents online with your iPad. Interesting ain’t it!!!
Most of you reading this must have been using Facebook for sometime and are loving it’s simple, subtle and soothing interface. The way photos, videos and text is displayed in smooth, rich environment is a visual treat. The embedded video streaming is nice and clear. Now i don’t know how many of you own or have actually used an iPhone or an iPad because the next app.
Ever since Google started developing it’s open source browser, the Chrome, internet users have been constantly waiting for it’s stable version to come up. Since the beta is a little buggy. Well “little” is an understatement, man, those shock wave plugin fails and sudden deaths coming up with “sorry for the inconvenience” thing made me bang my head. Logging out of yahoo made the idiot download webpages. Sick man!!! Shifting to firefox was a better idea.
